In Portugal you eat great and Porto was not going to be an exception. In this northern city there is a wide range of restaurants with cheap and quality menus. Today we are going to recommend you 9 restaurants where to eat in Porto well and cheap.

If you only have one day in Porto there is no doubt: you have to try a franceshina, a sandwich filled with various ingredients (sausages, ham, mortadella ...), fried egg and covered with a creamy sauce. And in the Café Santiago there are some of the best in Portugal. Prices range from € 9 to € 11 depending on the one you choose. It is a very convincing dish: if you are not very hungry, share one for two.

A place of all life, with a menu not too extensive but certainly economic and prepared with love and quality ingredients. Every day there are different dishes (pork and / or roast chicken, fish with rice and vegetables ...), but they are always around € 5-6. The portions are abundant and the desserts (€ 2.5) delicious.

Famous for his bifana, a sandwich stuffed with pork that… only costs € 2! If you accompany it with a cool beer you have succeeded!

A modernillo site and that drives instagrammers crazy, where you can enjoy a great brunch at honest prices. If you want to go try to be early as it usually gets full. The menu is quite extensive, recommended the açaí bowl (€ 5) and the eggs Benedict with bacon (€ 7.5). They also prepare quite a lot of cocktails with pintza!

At noon they propose a Dish of the day (€ 6.5) which may be a good option. If you prefer to eat a la carte we recommend some of their tapas (the portions are quite generous) like wild potatoes (€ 4), broken eggs with ham (€ 4.5). And if you are a carnivore, you know that it is here one of the best meats of tooodo Portugal: from bbq ribs (€ 12) to Black Angus (€ 38 for 2 people).

A good place and cheap where eat something when you're in a hurry or you don't want to waste too much time. The specialty is their sandwiches (€ 2.75 -3.5 € approx) and its fame is quite extensive in Porto, both among tourists and between locals. Recommended: the ham and goat cheese sandwich and the roast pork and tender cheese sandwich.

7. HamburgerDeGema

Great option if what you want is eat a rich hamburger: Many say that here are the best in the city. The place is nice and the variety quite large (there are also veg options). Hamburger prices: € 4.30-8.5. Interesting on noon menu (until 15): for € 5.5 you have hamburger of the day, potatoes and drink.

It is located in the Ribeira area and is a good place to eat quality fish, without spending too much on the budget. A good idea is to ask for one. cataplana for 1 person (€ 14.5) and share it (the ration for two costs about € 20) and accompany it with the occasional dish such as bacalhau bolinhos (try a couple of these “croquettes”, they cost less than € 1 / piece) and sardines (€ 8). The cod dishes are also rich (€ 12-14).
